Global orders for industrial trucks increased by more than 10% year-on-year in 2025, reaching nearly 2.38 million units, with electric warehouse trucks growing significantly faster than the overall market. This trend is confirmed by data from the international WITS statistical program, which tracks industrial truck orders from Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
Dominance of Electric Trucks and Market Development in Material Handling
Market growth is primarily driven by electric warehouse equipment, which accounts for more than half of global orders. While orders for electric trucks rose by 13.5%, trucks with combustion engines recorded a slight decline. KION reports that sustainability and electrification are key growth factors, including increasing demand for more environmentally friendly solutions and fleet modernization. As telematics and autonomous systems gain importance, the requirements of logistics companies for material handling are also evolving.
- Global industrial truck orders increased by 10.2% to 2.38 million units.
- Electric warehouse trucks make up nearly 55% of the market and are growing faster than other segments.
- Electric trucks represent 79% of total orders, while combustion engine trucks have slightly decreased.
- The shift to lithium-ion batteries is accompanied by the growth of e-commerce and warehouse modernization.
The expected further market development points to continued expansion of electric technologies, including autonomous solutions and increased use of telematics data. Growth in the pallet truck market is also confirmed by forecasts with an average annual growth rate exceeding 5% over the next decade. The Czech market continues to follow these global trends, albeit with some delay.
